Saturn Today - Calendar of Events Gerald Soffen Memorial Panel : The Future of Space Science 20 July 2010 from 8pm to 9:30pm - at ISU, Illkirch, France A Videoconference with the Soffen Memorial Panel of Distinguished Scientists at the COSPAR General Assembly, Bremen, Germany, chaired by Dr David Kendall, Director General of Space Science and Technology, Canadian Space Agency, Saint-Hubert, Canada. Summary. Many fundamental discoveries have been made in astronomy, planetary science, solar and space plasma physics, atmospheric and Earth sciences, and life and microgravity sciences using ever more sophisticated satellites, spacecraft and the $100 billion International Space Station. A panel of four eminent international space scientists who were the architects of many of these amazing advances share their views on future prospects. The Panel Members are: Dr Roger-Maurice Bonnet, President of COSPAR, Director of the International Space Science Institute, Bern, Switzerland, and past Director of Science, ESA, France. Dr Lennard Fisk, Professor of Space Science, University of Michigan, USA, and previously NASA Associate Administrator for Space Science and Applications, Dr Ed Stone, Professor of Physics, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California, USA, and past Director of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
